Not that great.... - The book has some useful information but there are much better pregnancy books in my opinion. Too alarming and very medical model.
Talk about Panic mode - I really enjoyed this book for the first couple pages, but once I got into it I realized that they write in a way that almost seems judgmental and made me feel that I had done everything in my pregnancy wrong. Certain topics that I looked up in the book I noticed that they were very quick to add the negative and I felt so panicked and scared reading this book. I have read many other books since and have never felt that same panic as I did reading this book. I highly recommend the pregnancy bible, or the complete book of pregnancy and childbirth. I found those books encouraging rather than unsettling. I also found that a lot of information in this book was misinformed according to my doctors, midwives. Everyone is different but I just found it unsettling and made me more nervous for my pregnancy rather than excited!
Wow! I wasn t expecting this! - This is a really great read. It has everything you ever wanted to know about pregnancy and were either too embarrssed or too shy to ask your doctor about! I loved the way it was divided into month by month and found just about everything I needed. I also go to it whenever I feel I need something explained. Terrific! I also liked another pregnancy book and would recommend it along with this one. It was called You Know You re Pregnant When. Reflections on the Longest Nine Months of My Life and it s a lighter and less serious.
